Al Glendinning

Alan Glendinning (born March 31, 1956) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player.
==Career==
Glendinning was the head coach of the Merritt Centennials of the British Columbia Hockey League from 2002-2009. He was drafted by the Washington Capitals in the 4th round, 55th overall in the 1976 NHL Entry Draft.
Glendinning spent the 1973-74 season in the Alberta Junior Hockey League with the Calgary Canucks before moving onto the WHL's Calgary Centennials for two seasons. He turned pro the following season with the Dayton Gems of the IHL, playing two seasons before retiring. Glendinning made a brief return to competitive hockey in the 1985-86 season, playing three games with the Nelson Maple Leafs of the Western International Hockey League.
Glendinning returned to hockey prior to the 1995-96 season as an assistant coach with the Kamloops Blazers of the WHL. He remained in that position through the 1997-98 season.
He was named as the head coach of the Merritt Centennials on January 7, 2002. Under Glendinning, the Centennials made the playoffs for six seasons. He also earned the Joe Tennant Trophy as BCHL coach of the year for the 2005-06 season.
